Client in Search of a New Way to Identify Customer Routing Territories
Moira, VP and management supervisor, at a full service advertising company in Maryland turned to Maponics to provide her client with a more time-efficient method of visually identifying the trading area for new store locations. Her client relies on a telephone routing system to redirect incoming calls to the nearest store, so that customers have the comfort of dealing with someone within their local region. As new stores are developed, the ZIP Codes for which that store will receive calls need to be identified and mapped. In the past, Moira’s client had identified the list of ZIP Codes that would be used for both direct mail and the telephone routing system manually using wall maps. As Moira explains, “The whole process took weeks to accomplish, and was extremely time-consuming”.
Digital Mapping Saves Days of Time-Consuming Work
Assuming there had to be a faster, more productive way, Moira chose Maponics to provide the needed mapping services. Using a list of all of the ZIP Codes within a certain radius of each store location, Maponics was able to provide custom, digital ZIP Code maps showing the multiple store locations on each individual map and color coding the ZIP Codes covered by each store. Not only were the maps of presentation quality, the cost of the lists and maps was negligible by comparison to the amount of time/money it was taking to complete the task the old way.

The ad agency and their client have been very pleased with the results. “We will definitely be coming back!” says Moira. “Maponics was extremely helpful as they worked with us through the initial process of determining what exactly our maps should look like and what radius each store should cover.
