Maponics works with you to define territories using the criteria important to your business, then we produce a package of sales territory maps and reports for your staff.  Maponics’ sales territory design services will result in intelligently balanced territories that increase productivity and revenues. 

There are four steps to this process.

Step 1:  Define your market area

In most cases, you already know your market area. It may be a county, a state, a set of ZIP Codes, or some other region. If you do not have a defined market area, Maponics can provide you with tools such as market maps and demographic data that will help you get started.

Step 2:  Establish your design criteria

Next Maponics will work with you to establish the “business rules” we will follow when we build your territories. You may need your market divided into a specific number of territories. Or, you may need to break the market into “equal and fair” territories, with particular characteristics.  For example, you may want each territory to have 1000 businesses with fewer than 50 employees. Or maybe you just need to have at least 2500 prospects in each territory.  We can apply whatever criteria you think is important, and source the relevant data.

Step 3:  Build your territories

Once we know your design criteria, Maponics will use those rules in combination with your data, and business or demographic data from other sources, and build geographically based, balanced and logical sales territories. Territory boundaries can be based on ZIP Codes, counties, census tracts, or physical features like highways, roads or rivers – whatever works best for your sales force or franchise owners!

Step 4:  Create the maps and reports you need

The final stage of your project will be the creation of a custom package of sales territory maps and reports. Often this package includes an overview map of your market area, a summary report, and then a more detailed map and report for each territory.
