Darrin Clement, Maponics’ Founder and Board Chairman, has more than 16 years of mapping and GIS data experience with organizations such as Geographic Data Technology (now TeleAtlas/TomTom), Map Applications Inc., and Banyan Software. Darrin is a recognized innovator and leader in the GIS industry and a regular speaker at national conferences.
Darrin was Maponics' CEO until March 2014. As CEO, Darrin assembled a management team that drove steady growth and product-line expansion in geographic data products for GIS, database, web, and mobile applications. As Chairman of the Board, Darrin focuses on exploring and developing new markets for Maponics' products and partnerships.
While at Geographic Data Technology, Darrin was Director of Product Development and led a group that successfully diversified and expanded the product line to five major product sectors and target markets.
Darrin holds an MS in Engineering from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College and a BS in Physics from Binghamton University.
Dan Adams, CEO of Maponics, has more than 17 years of experience in GIS markets, with roles ranging from operational management and product management to sales, business development and organizational change. Dan served as COO of Maponics from July 2013 to March 2014.
Before joining Maponics, Dan served in several executive positions at TomTom, including VP of Partner Development, VP of Product Management and VP of Geospatial Sales. Prior to these posts, he was on the management teams of GDT and Tele Atlas North America. Dan has extensive international experience in business development, sales, and operations, among many other areas, and he held international assignments in Belgium and Amsterdam.
Dan earned his BA from the University of New Hampshire and is a graduate of the Tuck Executive Program at Dartmouth College.
Mark Friend, Vice President of Sales and Business Development, has over 16 years of high-tech Sales and Marketing experience. At companies such as Vicinity (now Microsoft), Go2, Paramark, and Tactician, Mark drove significant revenue growth as an executive in Sales, Marketing and Business Development.
At Maponics, Mark has been instrumental in establishing the company as the leading provider of geographic data to numerous industries, including: Real Estate, Search/Local Search and Direct Marketing.
Mark holds a BA in Finance from California State University at Fullerton and has completed post graduate work in the fields of Finance, Sales, and Law.
Paul Gallagher, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management, is responsible for overseeing all marketing and product management activities for Maponics. Paul brings 19 years of experience in the areas of marketing, product development, operations, and M&A to the Maponics team.
Before joining Maponics, Paul served as Chief Operating Officer and helped launch 9Lenses, a social enterprise performance management venture. Prior roles included Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Development for Everest Software, Vice President of Customer Advocacy for PCCW Global, Director of Professional Services at Sigaba, and Director of Global Network Engineering at PSINet where he also had gained extensive international M&A experience. Additionally, Paul founded and ran a consumer products company, successfully penetrating several retail verticals.
Paul holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Matt Barnum, Vice President of Operations, contributes to the company’s planning and strategy while overseeing all aspects of geospatial operations and product delivery. Matt is responsible for setting and delivering Maponics’ technology vision and ensuring its alignment with Maponics’ product roadmap and growth plans.
Matt brings nearly a decade of GIS experience and 17 years of management experience to Maponics. For eight years, he served at TomTom as Director of the Location Based Services Product Unit, Director of Enhanced Content and GIS Solutions and Director of Operational Planning, among other roles. Prior to that, Matt served as the Manager of Client Solutions at McGraw-Hill Construction Research & Analytics.
Matt earned his B.A. in Economics with a concentration in Computer Science from Boston College.
