Neighborhood Boundaries 1.11.1 release

In January 2011, Maponics released version 1.11.1 of our Neighborhood Boundaries products.  We know that our customers rely on our quarterly updates because the relevance of our data is directly tied to its currency and coverage.  Our global coverage in the datasets for North America, Europe and Rest of World now includes 138,000 neighborhood boundaries in more than 2,000 cities across 60 countries.

What’s New in Version 1.11.1

Version 1.11.1 was our first release of Neighborhood Boundaries in 2011. The following enhancements and changes have been included in this release.

Coverage Expansion
In the North American dataset, coverage of locally-sourced neighborhoods has increased by over 10,000 polygons with expansion in more than seventy new cities, including Broomfield, CO, Rocklin, CA, Blue Springs, MO and Prince George, BC. Also, Washington, D.C. and the Miami, FL were a focus of coverage expansion, adding over 1,000 neighborhoods in each of these metro areas.  This brings total coverage in North America to more than 120,400 neighborhoods in 49 states, the District of Columbia and Canada.

In the European dataset, more than 1,000 neighborhoods were added in one new country (Monaco) and 15 new cities, including Mulhouse (France), Mannheim (Germany), Seville (Spain), and Nottingham(UK).
