Senior Account Executive - Social

This position reports to the Director of Sales and main responsibilities include: prospecting and closing new business, maintaining and growing existing accounts and accurately updating progress in SFA software.

Responsibilities:

New Business: proactively sell Maponics GIS location data to businesses with a focused strategy and “no excuses” attitude:

  • research and target prime verticals and companies hunter mentality with ability to make daily outbound cold calls
  • effectively move inbound leads to closure
  • target the appropriate role within the organization
  • responsible for entire sales cycle and closing profitable business

Account Management: dedicated customer service, such that you are the go-to person for this customer for all assistance including:

  • consistently expanding our contact network within the company
  • creating and executing on a plan for regularly probing their needs
  • developing a “key facts” knowledge of these customers such as: organizational structure of enterprise; financial status; functional areas within their org that feed into and out of the services we provide (dependencies)
  • advocating customer needs to enhance internal product development initiatives
  • attending customer-specific trade shows and/or customers with specific objectives

Measurements: We (and you) will know you’re a success when:

  • revenue targets new business and account management are exceeded…but you are still not satisfied and want more
  • monthly forecasting has a high degree of accuracy
  • customers have few problems post-contract (meaning that we really did understand their problems and they understood our solution) & any issues are handled efficiently
  • our contact network within their organization increases & incremental opportunities are identified and closed
  • Account Management plans produced for relevant accounts
  • has a complete understanding of all products (pricing, features, which product is appropriate for which problems)
  • is frequently making well thought-out recommendations for improvements to products and processes

The experience you bring includes:

  • at least six (6) years of experience in a Sales role selling high-tech products
  • experience selling technology or data solutions into the Real Estate vertical a plus
  • experience within the GIS industry desired
  • proven experience acquiring and growing accounts
  • proven success building and managing sales pipeline
  • excels within a start-up environment

Skills needed to achieve results include:

  • ability to document and communicate customer requirements to the production team
  • experience with contact management tools and discipline to use them
  • exceptional phone and writing skills
  • proactive work ethic & proven sales skills
  • exceptional time management skills
  • true concern for customer’s needs and listening skills to uncover the non-obvious
  • team player with the ability and willingness to share advanced sales knowledge
  • Bachelor’s Degree or above

Compensation Structure: This quota carrying position will pay a base salary commensurate with experience and an uncapped commission on sales.
