Search/Local Search

Some say that all politics is local.  That saying, in fact, comes from the former US Speaker of the House of Representatives, "Tip" O'Neill, who said this about a lesson taught by his father after an early failed campaignwhen it was over, he pointed out that "I had taken my own neighborhood for granted."

Many search and local search sites, including Yellowbook and DexKnows, have clearly learned to not take neighborhoods for granted because they license our Neighborhood Boundaries GIS data to enable search by neighborhood areas.  Whether a site visitor is planning a trip to Old Town Montreal or looking for the pizza shops in Back Bay, Boston, search results are organized, grouped and shown within neighborhood boundaries on map displays.  Further, search sites also use ZIP Code Boundaries and Canadian FSA Boundaries to enable search and display by postal code.
